The Hanoi Department of Tourism reports that the city welcomed an estimated 2.27 million visitors in October 2025, up 8.9% year-on-year. International arrivals were a key driver, soaring 17.8% to 695,000 visitors, while domestic tourism reached 1.58 million, a 5.3% increase.
This growth translated into strong financial results, with total tourism revenue estimated at VND9.93 trillion ($377 million), an 11.9% year-on-year increase. Hotel occupancy rates also improved slightly, reaching 59.9%.
The October figures add to a highly successful year so far. In the first 10 months of 2025, Hanoi welcomed 28.22 million visitors (up 21.9%), including 6.17 million international arrivals (up 23.6%), generating total revenue of VND108.22 trillion ($4.12 billion), up 19.8% over 2024.
In line with its strategic goals, the tourism sector focused on new initiatives in October, including night tours at Soc Temple, community tourism programs highlighting local culture, and strengthened linkages with other regions to offer richer experiences.
Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, reaffirmed the city’s commitment to sustainable growth, aiming to enhance Hanoi’s reputation as a “safe, friendly, high-quality, and attractive” destination.
“Diversifying products, embracing digital transformation, strengthening regional connectivity, and improving service quality are key to enhancing Hanoi’s competitiveness,” she said, underscoring the capital’s role as Vietnam’s leading tourism hub.
Looking ahead, Hanoi is preparing to host major events such as the Hanoi Autumn Festival and the 2025 Ao Dai Festival, designed to attract more visitors and showcase the city’s heritage. Efforts are also ongoing to develop rural, agricultural, and indigenous-culture-based tourism products.
