12 children hospitalized due to poisoning after eating bread with sausage

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên01/06/2024

On June 1, speaking with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, Mr. Dao Manh Duc, Chairman of Thuan Hung Commune People's Committee (Khoai Chau District, Hung Yen ), said that a food poisoning incident had just occurred in the commune, causing 12 children to be hospitalized for treatment.

According to the leader of Thuan Hung Commune People's Committee, earlier, on the morning of May 30, at the bread shop of Mr. Tran Danh Quan's family (43 years old, residing in Phung Hung Commune, renting a space to sell bread in Team 12, Thuan Hung Commune, Khoai Chau District), 12 children bought bread with sausages to eat.

After eating, the children had high fever and vomiting and were taken by their families to Khoai Chau District Medical Center for treatment.

"Of the 12 poisoned children, 6 live in Thuan Hung commune. Currently, 2 children have been brought home by their families after their health stabilized. The remaining 4 children continue to be treated at the Khoai Chau District Medical Center. The remaining 6 poisoned children live in Chi Tan commune (also in Khoai Chau district)," Mr. Duc informed.

The reporter has contacted and texted the leaders of the People's Committee of Chi Tan commune many times to get information about the health of the 6 poisoned children but has not received any response.

Poisoned children are treated at Khoai Chau District Medical Center after eating bread with sausages at Mr. Quan's store.

Immediately after receiving information about the incident, Mr. Dao Manh Duc directed the commune police and the commune health station to go to Mr. Quan's family's bread shop to make a record, temporarily suspend operations, and take food samples to send for testing, but the results are not yet available.

However, according to Mr. Duc's assessment, the most likely cause of poisoning for the 12 children was sausage, because when the children vomited, sausage was in the food.

It is known that Mr. Quan's family has been selling bread for many years in Thuan Hung commune. About a month ago, Mr. Quan's wife went abroad. During this time, Mr. Quan stayed home to sell goods instead of his wife. This is the first time that a customer has been poisoned after eating at Mr. Quan's bread shop.
