12:00 and 18:00 today, open 2 more bottom spillway gates of Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoir

At 7:00 a.m. today, June 29, the upstream water level of Tuyen Quang Lake was at 107.26m, the downstream water level was 52.32m, the water flow to the lake was 1,732m3/s, the total water flow to the downstream was 1,233m3/s.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has just issued Official Dispatch No. 3790/CD-BNNMT to the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company ordering the opening of the second bottom spillway gate at 12:00 and the opening of the third bottom spillway gate at 18:00 on June 29 to gradually bring the upstream water level back to the elevation of 105.2m.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requested Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company to continue to closely monitor the developments of floods, construction safety, flow to the reservoir, upstream and downstream water levels of the reservoir and promptly report to the Ministry through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control.

To ensure safety for works and riverside activities , the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment also requests the People's Committees of the provinces and cities of Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hanoi to immediately notify authorities at all levels, people, and organizations operating on rivers and riverside; aquaculture facilities, water transport vehicles; ferry terminals; review and ensure the safety of works under construction; activities of sand and gravel exploitation, gathering, and transit to know information about flood discharge from Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir to proactively take preventive measures to ensure safety for people and property.

At the same time, relevant localities and units must promptly report and propose solutions to handle unusual situations that may occur during flood discharge to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention and Control).

Previously , the Minister of Agriculture and Environment ordered the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company to open a bottom spillway gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower reservoir at 2:00 p.m. on June 27.
