40 Outstanding Projects Compete in the National Final Round of the "Women's Creative Startup and Green Transformation" Competition in 2024

On the morning of October 10, 2024, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union organized the National Final Presentation Competition with the aim of selecting the best startup ideas/projects to honor and award prizes for the 2024 National Competition.

In 2024, the Women's Startup Competition will continue to be implemented in the direction of expanding its scale to reach more disadvantaged women through coordination with 6 agencies and units, including ministries, branches, associations (agencies and units), while focusing on increasing professionalism, systematization, strictness, science and flexibility at both the central and local levels to attract women from all walks of life across the country to participate in the competition, greatly increasing both scale and quality.

With the theme "Women's creative startups and green transformation" , the Competition was officially launched in October 2023, going through serious and rigorous rounds, from the preliminary round at the provincial and municipal levels, the preliminary round at the Central Association level, the semi-finals and finals at the regional level in the 3 regions of the North, Central and South held in Hung Yen, Quang Ngai and Ben Tre provinces.

After the Regional Finals, 40 Projects that won Third Prize or higher were selected to compete in the National Final Presentation Competition, taking place from October 10 to October 11, 2024 in Hanoi . Candidates representing Startup Projects will present directly, focusing on introducing in more depth the novelty and creativity of their products, goods, and business models in a green direction or with the potential to contribute to creating a positive impact on the environment in accordance with the theme of the 2024 Competition and answer questions from the Jury to clarify the evaluation according to the criteria issued in the Competition Rules.

Continuing and accompanying startup projects

Congratulations to 40 Startup Project candidates from 30 provinces and cities and 3 Projects from 3 coordinating units participating in the national final round, including 6 ethnic minority candidates and 1 disabled woman; Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Tran Lan Phuong affirmed: "The Vietnam Women's Union appreciates the efforts, creative entrepreneurial spirit and dedication of the women who have not been afraid of difficulties and challenges to build groundbreaking and pioneering startup projects in the field of green transformation. This is not only the result of tireless efforts, but also a testament to the creativity, innovation and strong determination of the women in moving towards sustainable, environmentally friendly business models".

Vice President Tran Lan Phuong added: It can be seen that the startup movement of the Vietnam Women's Union does not stop at the Competitions but is a continuation and companionship with startup projects over the past years. From the support activities of the Union, many startup examples from the Competition have succeeded in production and business, not only spreading the entrepreneurial spirit, love, care, sharing, bringing jobs to the community, contributing value to society.

The Jury is comprised of experienced experts with deep expertise in many fields.

Ensure the principles of "Transparency, Equality, Competition"

With 3 evaluation principles: "Transparency, Equality, Competition", the final round of the Competition is gradually increasing in difficulty compared to previous rounds. It focuses on 6 major criteria groups, including: Innovation, Creativity, Market Analysis, Implementation Capacity, Impact Potential, Sustainability and Feasibility. Along with that, the Jury, who are experienced experts with in-depth expertise in many fields... will strive to accurately select the most outstanding projects to honor and award at the National Final Award Ceremony of the Competition on the morning of October 12.

40 Outstanding Projects Compete in the National Finals of the Competition

Attending the Final Presentation Competition were also investors and representatives of Startup Funds who came to listen and give comments to the Projects with the hope of supporting more women startups in the future, helping startup projects grow strong, competitive and stand firm in the market.

The Project "Supporting Women to Start a Business in the 2017-2025 Period" (Project 939) was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 939/QD-TTg dated June 30, 2017. After 6 years of implementing the Project, the women's start-up movement has increasingly spread, strongly promoting the entrepreneurial spirit of women, with thousands of women starting and successfully starting businesses in all regions of the country, in a variety of fields, professions, and in all types of business. They have been making significant contributions to the development of the country and creating jobs for many women and people in the localities.
