In the context of the press strongly innovating to adapt to the digital age, Hanoi Moi Newspaper once again demonstrates its desire to contribute through a methodical, solid, and creative digital transformation journey, continuing to play the role of a bridge between the Party's will and the people's hearts, always full of strength to grow with the Capital and the country.

The mission of "pioneer" of the capital's press
During the period of Hanoi's transformation after Liberation Day (October 10, 1954), the Hanoi Party Committee set out the need for a daily newspaper in the capital to reflect the people's thoughts and aspirations, propagate revolutionary policies, and spread the spirit of building the capital. Resolution No. 93-DBHN of the Hanoi Party Committee dated February 26, 1957 marked that important first step, and then 8 months later, on October 24, 1957, the Capital Newspaper - the mouthpiece of the Hanoi Party Committee, introduced its first daily issue to readers.
In particular, the newspaper was honored to be named twice by President Ho Chi Minh. The first time, on January 1, 1959, the two agencies Thu Do Newspaper and Ha Noi Newspaper merged, and were named by Uncle Ho as Thu Do Ha Noi Newspaper. The second time, on January 25, 1968, Thu Do Ha Noi Newspaper merged with Thoi Moi Newspaper, and were named by him as Ha Noi Moi Newspaper - a name that has become a source of pride and a special mark in the history of Vietnam's revolutionary press.
Another move of the newspaper was on August 1, 2008, implementing Resolution No. 15/2008/QH12 of the 12th National Assembly on adjusting the administrative boundaries of Hanoi city and some related provinces, Ha Tay Newspaper merged with Hanoi Moi Newspaper, continuing to use the common name of Hanoi Moi Newspaper. Since then, the collective of cadres, reporters, editors, and workers carrying the cultural features of Thang Long, the culture of Xu Doai and other cultural regions gathered under the "common roof" of Hanoi Moi, continuing the mission of "pioneering" of the capital's press.
During the 68-year journey accompanying the development of the Capital and the country, Hanoi Moi Newspaper has consistently brought a flow of hot, valuable news to readers. From the fires of war to the country's independence, unification, peace, then innovation and international integration, Hanoi Moi Newspaper has always been a close friend of many generations of Hanoians, joining the rhythm of progress and development of the Capital and the country... The persistent contributions of generations of cadres, reporters, editors and workers of Hanoi Moi Newspaper have been recognized. On April 16, 2014, Hanoi Moi Newspaper - the first local Party newspaper in the country was honored to be awarded the title of Labor Hero by the Party and State.
Evaluating the local Party newspaper with the longest history and the most representative in the country's press system, former Politburo member and former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Pham Quang Nghi emphasized: "In any period, the leaders of Hanoi city have always paid great attention to and created favorable conditions for the press, especially the Hanoi Moi Newspaper, to develop, but also set out the requirement of continuous innovation to meet the tasks assigned by the city. I always appreciate the efforts of the collective leadership, reporters, editors, and employees of the Newspaper to maintain its important position in the press team of the Capital and the whole country."

Cultural face of the capital
As the agency of the Hanoi Party Committee, the voice of the Party Committee, the government and the people of the capital, Hanoi Moi Newspaper always affirms its mettle, intelligence and exemplary spirit on the ideological and cultural front of the Party. The newspaper always follows the reality of life, accompanying the people in each historical period, from the struggle for independence to the renovation, integration and development today. Not only promptly informing and propagating the resolutions and directives of the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee, Hanoi Moi also truthfully reflects the breath of life in each residential area, each key project, each step of transformation in the urban beautification, new rural construction, cultural and social development...
Hanoi Moi's in-depth articles have contributed to raising public awareness, encouraging community initiatives, and criticizing many "hot" social issues such as environmental protection, urban planning, construction order management, education and public health, etc. Thanks to that, the newspaper not only plays a good role in orienting public opinion, but also becomes a reputable critical information channel.
Having held the position of leader of the Party newspaper of the Capital during the period of unification of Hanoi and Ha Tay, journalist Ho Quang Loi, former Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi Moi Newspaper, former Head of the Propaganda Department of the Hanoi Party Committee, former Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association shared that it was a difficult time because the two agencies of Hanoi Moi Newspaper and Ha Tay Newspaper merged into one, many problems arose, especially the arrangement of staff, how to harmonize, to look in the same direction. However, the people working for Hanoi Moi and Ha Tay newspapers were able to do it thanks to the spirit of solidarity.
“In just two years, the newspaper will reach its 70th anniversary. I believe that my colleagues at Hanoi Moi will continue to show their love for Hanoi, through their work, contributing to the development of the newspaper towards becoming a multimedia press agency, a newspaper that is truly the cultural face of the capital, serving the cause of building a cultured, civilized, and modern Hanoi,” journalist Ho Quang Loi expressed.
