Recently, the Bestune brand under the parent company FAW officially introduced the low-cost electric car Pony in the Vietnamese market with a starting price of only 199 million VND. Not long after that, this car model had a new version in the Chinese market. The 2026 version of Bestune Pony was introduced at the Fan Cooling Festival event organized by FAW Bestune in Changchun City, Jilin Province, China on July 27, 2025. This model is priced from 34,900 - 45,900 yuan (equivalent to 122 - 160 million VND), half the price of Bestune Pony in Vietnam.
In the new version, Bestune Pony still retains the 3-door and 4-seat design typical of the small electric car segment. Because this is a slightly upgraded version, the car continues to have a square box-shaped body with sharp lines. The front of the car stands out with a new headlight design and decorative details on the front bumper. On the side, the car is equipped with bulging wheel arches, combined with white rearview mirror covers and aerodynamically optimized wheel rim designs. Meanwhile, the rear of the car has a similar design style to the front, creating a consistent visual impression. The overall dimensions of the Bestune Pony remain unchanged from the old version. The car still has dimensions of length x width x height of 3,000 x 1,510 x 1,630 mm and a wheelbase of 1,953 mm. The interior of the Bestune Pony retains the old design style but has a new Cocoa brown color.
Some of the car's outstanding upgrades include: a 10.1-inch digital dashboard on high-end versions, Bluetooth phone lock, keyless car door opening feature, OTA entertainment system updates, DeepSeek virtual assistant, dash cam and convenient slow-crawling mode when driving at low speeds. The digital dashboard of the Bestune Pony in China is 10.1 inches in size instead of 7 inches like the car for Vietnam. All 5 versions of the Bestune Pony in the Chinese market are equipped with a permanent magnet electric motor located at the back. The car's engine produces a maximum output of 30 kW (42 hp) and a maximum torque of 90 Nm. The electric motor is combined with a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 18.11 kWh, providing an operating range of 222 km according to CLTC standards after a full charge.
It can be seen that compared to cars in Vietnam, Bestune Pony for China is cheaper but has a stronger electric motor and more "luxurious" equipment. Video : Chinese electric vehicles Bestune Pony, Nat newly launched in Vietnam.
