British International School Hanoi (BIS) holds graduation ceremony for class of 2025

A representative of BIS shared: “The school is delighted with the academic achievements and personal development of a group of students who have matured and bonded together for many years. One third of this year's graduates have been studying at the school for more than 10 years. The graduation ceremony is a meaningful milestone, an opportunity for students to look back on their challenging learning journey in an international curriculum combining the UK National Curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Programme IB”.

The graduation ceremony was attended by British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew. Ambassador Iain Frew gave an inspirational speech to the students: “Schools like BIS are the embodiment of international partnerships, global collaboration and international education . With high academic standards, a rich school culture and a commitment to nurturing a generation of mature, ethical and empowered young people.”

Ambassador Iain Frew encouraged students to take the values they have developed at BIS Hanoi with them on their new journey to prestigious global universities in the UK, Vietnam and many other countries.

The Class of 2025 marches at the Commencement Ceremony

Heidy Cho, a 2022 alumnus, was also present at the ceremony to share her experiences after graduating from BIS Hanoi. Heidy is currently studying at the University of Southern California (USA), majoring in History with a minor in Psychology and Law. After completing her undergraduate degree, Heidy hopes to continue her studies at law school to pursue a career as a lawyer.

“As you prepare to enter the next chapter of your lives, I urge you to be open and ready to embrace this big change,” Heidy Cho told her juniors. “Try everything, meet new people, be prepared to fail, and be prepared to succeed—because it will come.”

Heidy also emphasized the perseverance that the IB program has trained students: “If we have all overcome the challenges of the IB program, there is nothing that we cannot do if we are determined to do it.”

As one of the 10 graduates this year who have been with BIS Hanoi for 13 years, An Bao (Brian), valedictorian of the class of 2025, shared emotionally: “We started studying at this school as children - bewildered and clumsy. But today, we leave as young adults, although sometimes we still do not know everything we need to do, but we have the strength to face all the challenges ahead.”

According to the school representative, the graduating students have completed the IB Diploma exam and are awaiting the exam results, which are expected to be announced in early July 2025. In the meantime, they have received more than 150 early admission offers from prestigious universities around the world , such as: University College London - UCL, University of Edinburgh, King's College London (UK), Boston University (USA), University of Sydney (Australia), University of Hong Kong and Waseda University (Japan).
