How did the flight of the Vietnamese-American female astronaut into space take place?

Amanda Nguyen - the first Vietnamese-American woman to fly into space, just completed her special journey on the evening of April 14, Vietnam time.

Space.com describes Amanda Nguyen stepping out of a white windowed capsule in the West Texas desert, placing her hand on her chest, then pumping her fist into the air, beaming with joy. Having just crossed the Kármán line — the recognized boundary that separates Earth from the rest of the universe — she officially became the first Vietnamese-American woman in space.

"At this point, I just want to tell all the survivors: You can heal. No dream is too crazy, and if it's too crazy, like going to space, you can absolutely do it and it's totally possible," she said in an interview conducted shortly after the flight, according to Space.com.

Amanda Nguyen and her crew on the New Shepard spacecraft took off at 9:30 a.m. local time on April 14, or 9:30 p.m. Vietnam time, from Blue Origin's launch pad number 1 in West Texas (USA).

The entire flight lasted about 10.5 minutes.

Accompanying Amanda Nguyen on the NS-31 mission are five outstanding female astronauts: Aisha Bowe, a former Bahamian-American aerospace engineer; Gayle King, a famous journalist; Katy Perry, a singer and philanthropist; Kerianne Flynn, a film producer; and Lauren Sánchez, a helicopter pilot and journalist.

It was the first all-female crew since Valentina Tereshkova's flight in 1963, marking a step forward in gender equality in space.

The entire flight lasted about 10.5 minutes, giving NS-31 passengers about four minutes of weightlessness as their capsule circled the Kármán line – the internationally recognized “boundary” of space that lies at an altitude of more than 100 km.

The New Shepard spacecraft then parachuted down about 10.5 minutes after launch, creating a billowing cloud of dust over west Texas.

In particular, VNSC said it provided 169 lotus seeds (nelumbo nucifera), a symbol of purity and vitality in Vietnamese culture, to accompany Amanda Nguyen on her journey to explore the universe.
