VnExpressVnExpress04/11/2023

Essential oils of thyme, lavender, and cinnamon have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe irritated airways, reduce coughs, and relieve nasal congestion.

Sore throat, cold, flu are common respiratory diseases caused by viruses and bacteria. Common symptoms include runny nose, sore throat, cough, headache.

Essential oils are created by extracting and concentrating the oils from plants. The phytochemicals found in essential oils provide a variety of health benefits, including helping to relieve coughs. Some oils also have antibacterial properties, reducing inflammation caused by respiratory infections.

How to use

Essential oils are often used as aromatherapy. Patients can inhale directly , by opening the bottle cap, breathing deeply 5-10 times for a few minutes. Adults can drop a few drops of essential oil on a soft cloth or cotton, occasionally holding it up to the nose, do not apply this method to children.

To steam , fill a bowl with hot water and add a few drops of essential oil. Keep the bowl about 20 cm away from your nose, bend your head, cover your head and the bowl with a towel and breathe deeply. The warmth and aroma of the essential oil helps relax the nasal passages and airways, relieve congestion, and reduce coughing.

A diffuser or vaporizer releases tiny oil particles into the air. Add a little water to the essential oil and turn it on, the ratio varies depending on the type of essential oil.
