Tourists rent a car, send location to owner to find: Struggling because car has not been transferred

Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí22/02/2025

(Dan Tri) - One of the two cars abandoned by Turkish tourists on the sidewalk in Quang Ngai city has not yet been transferred. The owner of the car rental facility had to find the previous owner to make a power of attorney to receive the car.

On February 22, Mr. Le Ngoc Anh, Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province, said that he had received back two motorbikes that were left by Turkish tourists on the sidewalk of Quang Ngai city on February 14.

The two vehicles were temporarily detained by the Tran Phu Ward Police, Quang Ngai City. Mr. Ngoc Anh authorized a relative to go to Quang Ngai City to work with the police to get the vehicles back.

"The first time I went to the police, they only let me take one car. The other one had incorrect papers so I couldn't take it back. This was because I bought the car but hadn't changed the name yet," Ngoc Anh shared.

The police helped Mr. Ngoc Anh find information about the previous owner of the car, who lives in Tuy Phuoc district, Binh Dinh province. It took Mr. Ngoc Anh another day to complete the procedures to receive the second car.

The two bikes were well maintained. Before leaving them on the sidewalk, the tourists put their helmets and keys in the trunk.

According to Mr. Ngoc Anh, when discovering two cars on the sidewalk, the people of Tran Phu Ward reported to the police. This demonstrates the responsibility of the people in protecting security and order in the locality. Mr. Ngoc Anh expressed his thanks to the people and the Tran Phu Ward Police.

Mr. Ngoc Anh added that the two tourists rented the car through an accommodation service unit. This unit is quite reputable, specializing in serving foreign guests. When the guests rented the car, this unit only checked the documents and then returned them. Therefore, the guests drove to Quang Ngai and then left the car on the sidewalk to return home without any problems.

As Dan Tri reported, on February 8, two Turkish tourists came to Ngoc Anh's shop to rent a motorbike.

At around midnight on February 14, Mr. Ngoc Anh received a text message from two Turkish tourists informing him that they had urgent business and had to return home.

These tourists sent Ngoc Anh a video of two motorbikes parked neatly on the sidewalk. They put the keys and helmets in the trunk, and also sent a GPS so Ngoc Anh could find the motorbikes.

After returning home, the Turkish tourist contacted Mr. Ngoc Anh to ask for a calculation of the costs to be paid.
