On July 30, 2025, the live hog market across the country recorded mixed developments in the three regions, reflecting a state of adjustment after many days of continuous decline. The recorded price fluctuated between 60,000 - 64,000 VND/kg, in which the North increased sharply, the Central - Central Highlands showed signs of slight recovery, while the South continued to adjust downward in some localities.
Pig price in the North
After many flat sessions, the live hog market in the North has picked up again this morning. Most provinces and cities have increased prices by VND1,000/kg, bringing the common trading level to VND61,000 - 63,000/kg - the highest level in the country to date.
In key provinces such as Hanoi , Hung Yen and Bac Ninh, the price of live pigs increased to 63,000 VND/kg. Also recording an increase are Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang with the current price of 62,000 VND/kg. Some localities such as Ninh Binh and Ha Tinh are trading around 60,000 - 61,000 VND/kg. Only Lai Chau, Son La, Dien Bien and Quang Ninh continue to maintain the price in the range of 60,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.
With this adjustment, the North became the region with the strongest price increase during the day.
Pig price in Central Highlands
In the Central Highlands, the price of live pigs today did not fluctuate much and continued to remain at the lowest level among the three regions, ranging from 58,000 - 63,000 VND/kg. Some localities recorded a slight increase compared to yesterday, in which Thanh Hoa and Nghe An are currently purchasing live pigs at 61,000 VND/kg, while Ha Tinh has increased to 60,000 VND/kg.
In provinces such as Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang , Quang Ngai, the price remains at 59,000 VND/kg. Quang Tri and Gia Lai continue to be the localities with the lowest price in the region at 58,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Lam Dong is currently the only locality in the Central Highlands maintaining a high price of 63,000 VND/kg. Although there are signs of a slight recovery, the market in this region is still not comparable to the prices in the other two regions.
Pig price in the South
In contrast to the upward trend in the North, the South continued to see downward adjustments in many localities today. Ca Mau recorded the deepest decrease, down 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 62,000 VND/kg. Similarly, the price in Vinh Long decreased by 1,000 VND to 61,000 VND/kg, while An Giang and Ho Chi Minh City both remained at 62,000 VND/kg.
Some localities such as Dong Nai and Can Tho are currently stable at 63,000 VND/kg. Tay Ninh continues to maintain the regional peak at 64,000 VND/kg. The price difference between southern localities shows an unclear trend, as some places have decreased while key provinces still maintain high prices.
Meanwhile, pork prices at retail chains such as WinMart and Ha Hien Food Company remained unchanged this morning. Retail prices ranged from VND89,000 to VND190,000 per kilogram, with baby back ribs still the most expensive product at VND190,000 per kilogram.
