Hanoi approves urban planning of Soc Son over 500 hectares

The newly approved urban subdivision will focus on developing small and medium-sized industrial clusters, university urban areas and airport ancillary services, ecological parks, and urbanized villages.

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan has just signed a decision approving the urban planning project of Soc Son (zone 6), scale 1/2000. The planning scope is in the communes: Dong Xuan, Mai Dinh and Phu Lo (Soc Son district, Hanoi ).

Soc Son urban area 6 is an urban construction area, including the main functions of industry (small and medium industrial clusters); mixed-use area serving the university urban area and supporting services of Noi Bai International Airport; ecological green park area; urbanized villages.

The total planning area of Soc Son urban area 6 is about 533.25 hectares, with an expected population of 16,330 people. The planning is divided into 4 blocks and an urban traffic system to control development, specifically as follows:

Area A (433.02 ha): includes 3 planning blocks with symbols VI.1, VI.2, VI.3, including existing areas for renovation and Soc Son small and medium industrial cluster, aiming to convert to a supporting service industry model.

Area B (100.23 ha): includes planning block VI.4, with the main function of centralized public services, such as commercial centers, shopping centers and outlets.

Urban space will be developed along main urban routes (National Highway 18, National Highway 3), forming large spaces combined with new concentrated construction areas.

The urbanized villages are renovated and upgraded, the technical infrastructure system and social infrastructure are synchronized with the new urban development areas, organized around green space at the core, creating a village space with traditional Vietnamese architecture; creating an image of harmonious urbanized village housing and having connections in terms of technical infrastructure system as well as social infrastructure with the outside area...

Soc Son district is located in the planning of the northern city of Hanoi. This area will take Noi Bai airport as the core to orient the development of industries and services. At the same time, the northern city will be the center of financial services and high-tech industry of Hanoi.

In addition, Hanoi also orients the northern region to have eco-tourism, resort, sports and entertainment centers.

According to the plan, the northern city of Hanoi has a total area of about 633 km2, with a population of about 3.25 million people by 2045.
