Boc Nguyen Lake will release spillway to regulate water from 8am on October 10 with a flow rate of 10 - 50m3 /second.

Director of Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company, Tran Manh Cuong, said: Due to the influence of the southern edge of the continental high pressure tongue strengthening to the South, in the past few days, the Ha Tinh area has had moderate to heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain. The amount of rain measured in the Boc Nguyen lake basin from 5:00 p.m. on October 7 to 7:00 a.m. on October 9 was 250mm.

The water level of Boc Nguyen Lake at 7:00 a.m. on October 9 was at 18.44 m, equivalent to a capacity of 18.28 million m3 .

According to the forecast, from October 10, Ha Tinh will be affected by cold air and in the following days, the cold air will continue to strengthen. Some days, the cold air will combine with the northern edge of the tropical convergence zone, so it is likely that in the next 10 days, Ha Tinh will have continuous rain, many days with heavy to very heavy rain.

Based on the operating procedure of Boc Nguyen reservoir approved by the Provincial People's Committee, to ensure safety for the project and downstream areas, the unit conducts spillway discharge to regulate water.

The spillway discharge starts at 8am on October 10th with a flow rate of 10-50m3 /s. The end time will depend on weather conditions and lake water levels.

Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited requests the People's Committees of Cam Xuyen and Thach Ha districts, Ha Tinh city and communes directly affected by flood discharge to urgently notify, urge and guide people to implement measures to ensure safety for people and property, and be ready to respond to possible incidents.

Heavy rain caused many roads in Ha Tinh City to be partially flooded on the morning of October 8.

Previously, due to the influence of the southern edge of the continental high pressure tongue strengthening to the South, from the evening of October 7 to noon of October 8, there was moderate to heavy rain in the province, and very heavy rain in some places.

Rainfall measured from 7pm on October 7 to 10am on October 8 ranged from 116 to 200mm. Notably, at the Hoanh Son hydrological station, the rainfall measured was up to 348.6mm, Ha Tinh city 276.9mm, Cam Nhuong 243.6mm...

Due to heavy rain, the amount of water flowing into the dam increased rapidly. To ensure the safety of the project and the downstream area, Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited has released spillways to regulate the reservoirs: Kim Son, Tau Voi, and Thuong Song Tri.

Specifically, Tau Voi Lake spilled water from 8:00 a.m. on October 9 with a flow rate of 3 - 10m3 /second; Kim Son Lake spilled water from 3:00 p.m. on October 8 with a flow rate of 5 - 20m3 /second; Thuong Song Tri Lake spilled water from 3:00 p.m. on October 8 with a flow rate of 10 - 100m3 /second.

Heavy rain also caused some small-capacity dams in the province to be filled with water and flow freely over the spillway, such as: Ho Vo Lake, Khe Con Lake, Khe Nay Lake, Dap Trang Lake, Da Bac Lake, Con Song Lake, Dap Ho Lake, Ma Leng Lake, Nuoc Vang Lake in Huong Khe District; Da Cat Lake, Van Vo Lake in Ky Anh District...
