More than 80% of students meet the conditions for studying abroad in Australia in phase 2

(NLDO)- Over 80% of students have completed phase 1 at Ho Chi Minh City Open University, meeting the conditions for phase 2 study abroad in Australia.

Professor Nguyen Minh Ha, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, awarded certificates of completion of phase 1 to students.

On November 26, Ho Chi Minh City Open University held the closing ceremony of the 2022nd course of the international training joint program with Flinders University (Australia) and the opening ceremony of the 2024th course of the joint program with Bond University, University of Southern Queensland, Flinders (Australia).

At the ceremony, the President of Ho Chi Minh City Open University awarded certificates of completion of phase 1 to students of the 2022 class. Along with that, Flinders University (Australia) awarded phase 2 scholarships to students with the following levels: 10% of tuition fees for 1 year in Australia for all English language students, 20% of tuition fees for 2 years in Australia for students of business and commerce majors. For new students of the 2024 class enrolling in joint programs, Ho Chi Minh City Open University awarded scholarships with a total value of more than 520,000,000 VND.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, said that in June 2017, the official partnership between the two universities was established with the goal of opening up many diverse learning opportunities, especially the 2-phase training program (first 1.5 years in Vietnam, the next 2 years in Australia). Starting with 2 business and commerce programs; 2 years later, the 2 universities continued to cooperate with the English language program.

"This cooperation has opened new doors, giving students of Ho Chi Minh City Open University the opportunity to experience Australia's high-quality education right in Vietnam. The program not only helps improve academic qualifications but also contributes positively to the development of high-quality human resources for the country, contributing to promoting cooperation between Vietnam and Australia," Professor Ha emphasized.

Since the first course opened in collaboration with Flinders University in September 2018, over 80% of students have completed phase 1 at Ho Chi Minh City Open University with good academic results, meeting the conditions for phase 2 of studying abroad in Australia (academic and foreign language).
