On July 19, at lot 166, compartment 1, sub-area 1, Phong Phu ward, Hue city, a forest fire occurred.

Initial information, at around 9:30 a.m. on July 19, Hue City Forest Rangers received a report of a forest fire from residents, occurring at Lot 166, Compartment 1, Sub-area 1, Phong Phu Ward.

The Northern Hue City Forest Protection Department quickly coordinated with military, police, border guards, authorities and a large number of local people to participate in fire fighting.

Hue mobilized 400 people to fight a forest fire that lasted 7 hours.

About 400 people and 7 specialized fire trucks were mobilized to the scene to fight the fire.

Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, directly directed forces to deploy measures to contain and fight forest fires.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

However, the intense heat and strong winds caused the fire to flare up again several times after it was extinguished.

By 4:30 p.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished. The initial estimated burned area was about 9 hectares of production forest belonging to local people and the People's Committee of Phong Phu Ward.

Currently, the Hue City Forest Protection Department has directed the Hue City Northern Forest Protection Department to coordinate with the Phong Phu Ward People's Committee and relevant agencies and forest owners to investigate and clarify the matter.
