Iran talks about the opportunity for nuclear negotiations with the West, demands the US pay more than $48 billion in compensation for this reason

According to Iranian state media, the country's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said on November 16 that there is a chance for nuclear negotiations with the West, but it is "limited".

"There is still a chance for diplomacy , although it is not much, it is limited," Mr. Araghchi said of Tehran's nuclear program in an interview with Iranian state television.

In another development, on the same day, November 16, an Iranian court ruled that the US must pay $48.86 billion in compensation to the families of Iranian citizens killed in the war against "terrorist groups" linked to Washington in Iraq and Syria.

According to Iran's semi-official Fars news agency, the verdict was issued by Judge Majid Hosseinzadeh after two hearings on a complaint filed by 700 family members of the victims against the US government .

The court identified the above terrorist groups as "the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) organization and the Al-Nusra Front".

According to the ruling, the US must compensate each plaintiff $10 million, a total of $6.98 billion, for material damages, and compensate each plaintiff $20 million, a total of $13.96 billion, for mental damages, Fars said.

The court also ordered Washington to pay $27.92 billion in punitive damages to prevent further harm.

According to Fars, the US can appeal within 2 months from the date of the verdict.

Washington has yet to respond to the Iranian court's decision.

Over the years, Tehran has sent military personnel to Iraq and Syria to help the governments of those countries fight "terrorist groups".
