After 5 seasons playing in the highest league of Vietnamese football, Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club was relegated after finishing last in V-League 2024 - 2025 with 21 points after 26 matches.

It is worth mentioning that not only did the season end in sadness, coach Bui Doan Quang Huy and his team also do not know what the future will be like, when there is information that the team may disband, although not officially.

The reason is that the sponsor withdrew after many years of support due to financial difficulties. Moreover, Binh Dinh province has merged with Gia Lai so there is no need to maintain two professional football teams.

However, in the latest meeting on the afternoon of July 1, the leaders of Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club decided to still participate in the 2025-2026 First Division.

Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club leaders said the meeting planned to merge Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club with Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club to form a single team competing in V-League 2025 - 2026. However, the meeting decided to try to maintain Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club.

This leader said: "We have decided that Gia Lai will still have two professional teams. Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club will still be managed by Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc. Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club will be managed by Hung Thinh Group. Players and coaching staff will be supplemented by the two clubs."

The leader of Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club said that the policy is already in place, but the team's personnel situation and training plan will only be decided next week. "We will finalize the personnel at the end of this week and restructure the team, from the players to the coaching staff and the club's leadership. We still have to have another meeting this weekend before we can continue," he said.

Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club last season was led by coach Bui Doan Quang Huy (21 matches) before being transferred to coach Tran Minh Chien (5 matches) at the end of the season. Leaving the position, coach Quang Huy moved to become technical director.

Many Quy Nhon Binh Dinh players will leave

After being relegated, there is information that captain midfielder Cao Van Trien and Pham Duc Huy will leave Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club to join Hai Phong Club. In addition, many other famous players may also leave when the team strongly restructures for the new season.

Last season, Quy Nhon Binh Dinh Club also let 16 key players leave due to financial difficulties. So from the current runner-up of V-League 2023 - 2024, the martial arts team did not play well and was relegated last season.
