Under the harsh summer sun, workers face many difficulties and hardships when working in harsh conditions, with outdoor temperatures sometimes reaching over 40°C.

These days, Hanoi is in the peak of the hot season, with the highest temperature reaching 36-37 degrees Celsius. At the side gate of My Dinh bus station, vehicles are coming and going busily to transport goods to and from the provinces. There are always dozens of porters here diligently transporting goods to the delivery point.

At noon, due to the urban effect, the outdoor temperature rises above 40 degrees Celsius, even 50 degrees Celsius, making not only the cargo handling team tired but also the sender and receiver feel stuffy.

The group of workers were assigned to each vehicle to pick up the goods from the delivery person and record which vehicle they were sending them to and where they were sending them to. Depending on the size of the goods, the price would vary, ranging from 15,000 VND to 50,000 VND per shipment. Working under the hot sun for a long time made the workers' clothes soaked and their faces sweaty.

The hot weather causes the body to quickly lose water, so workers have to constantly rehydrate when resting. Mr. Tran Van Hue (from Thai Binh ) said: "These days the weather is hot, with high temperatures at noon. Right at the time when goods are pouring in, most workers working during this time are exhausted. We also arrange for groups to take turns, so when tired they can rest."

Here, to reduce the high temperature in the car, many bus drivers continuously carried water to sprinkle on the car.

Mr. Ma Van Thanh (27 years old, from Muong Khuong, Lao Cai ) said: "It's very hard in this hot weather. Every time we finish a trip, we have to pull the hose to sprinkle water on the car and the engine to reduce the high temperature of the car. Sometimes when we wait for a long time, the car hasn't left the station yet, every 10 minutes I go out to water the car once."

On the street, people have to find a shady place when stopping at a red light.

In the midday sun, motorbike taxi drivers choose to rest under the shade of trees near bus stations and intersections to conveniently pick up passengers. Many can only take a quick nap under overpasses or elevated roads.

Mr. Le Van Tuan (from Ha Nam), a motorbike taxi driver, said: “It’s so tiring in this hot weather, I’m dehydrated because my shirt is soaked with sweat. Whenever there are no customers, I have to find shade or under overpasses to rest, both to avoid the sun and to wait for customers.”

The sun made the road surface white, the heat rising created an illusion that looked like puddles.

Most people who go out are covered from head to toe to avoid the sun. Some people, even though they have sun protection clothing, still use umbrellas to reduce the burning sensation.
