Welcoming ceremony for General Secretary To Lam and his wife on a state visit to Azerbaijan

On the afternoon of May 7, within the framework of the state visit to Azerbaijan, a solemn welcoming ceremony for General Secretary To Lam and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation was held at the Presidential Palace. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his wife presided over the welcoming ceremony.

The motorcade carrying General Secretary To Lam and his wife entered the Presidential Palace. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife came to the parking lot to welcome General Secretary To Lam and presented his wife Ngo Phuong Ly with a bouquet of fresh flowers. Afterwards, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife joined General Secretary To Lam and his wife in the position of honor.

General Secretary To Lam and his wife, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife listened to the military band playing the national anthems of the two countries.

The leader of the Guard of Honor saluted the General Secretary and his wife on a state visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. The military band played the national anthems of Vietnam and Azerbaijan. Then, the Guard of Honor marched past the podium. At the end of the parade, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife, along with General Secretary To Lam and his wife, moved into the Presidential Palace and took a group photo.

This state visit to Azerbaijan by General Secretary To Lam and his wife and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation is the highest-level visit by a Vietnamese Party and State leader to Azerbaijan since the two countries established official diplomatic relations in 1992.

The visit will contribute to further strengthening cooperation between the two countries, especially in areas where Azerbaijan has strengths.
