Ba Thu Bon Festival awarded National Cultural Heritage certificate

This is one of the activities in the series of events of National Tourism Year - Quang Nam 2022, with the theme " Quang Nam - Green tourism destination".

Vice Chairman of Duy Xuyen District People's Committee Nguyen The Duc said that there are many legends about Ba Thu Bon, but they all have in common that she is a beautiful girl with long hair, the embodiment of love for people, the mother of the homeland, the land with mysterious and miraculous colors, the symbol of the aspiration for a peaceful country, the will to rise up to overcome natural disasters, enemies and poverty.

The Lady Thu Bon Festival holds an extremely important position in the spiritual life of the people in the upper Thu Bon River, taking place on the 11th and 12th of the second lunar month every year. This is a festival with the color of folk beliefs passed down through generations to express respect, honor, and gratitude for the merits of the Lady and the ancestors in the work of opening up the land, establishing villages; creating the foundation and conditions for the next generations to settle down, stabilize and develop the socio-economy; demonstrating the spirit of solidarity of the ethnic communities: Cham, Co Tu, Kinh... living in the upper Thu Bon River.

Lady Thu Bon Mausoleum was built a long time ago and was restored in 2016 with modern architecture; in front there is a screen, on the right side of the mausoleum there is a stone stele engraved with ancient Cham characters. Lady Thu Bon Mausoleum was ranked as a provincial historical relic by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province in 2005.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Tan sent his congratulations to the officials and people of Duy Xuyen district; at the same time, he requested the local authorities and people to continue to uphold their sense of responsibility, actively preserve and promote the heritage values of the Ba Thu Bon Traditional Festival.

The local government has stepped up promotion and introduction to the general public, friends, and tourists from near and far about the unique values of the Lang Ba relic associated with the traditional Ba Thu Bon Festival in order to attract tourists and develop the tourism sector more strongly, especially cultural and religious tourism.

Duy Xuyen District People's Committee needs to proactively coordinate with Nong Son District and the western districts of the province to form a series of festivals to honor and commemorate "Thu Bon Mother"; associated with organizing cultural activities to attract tourists.
