Cultural Festival “Ethnic minority women take action for gender equality”

Kinhtedothi - On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's Traditional Day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024) - the Day of Great National Unity, on the evening of November 15, the Hanoi Women's Union (VWU) organized the cultural festival "Ethnic minority women take action for gender equality" in 2024.

At the same time, this is also one of the practical activities of the City Women's Union in response to the Month of Action for Gender Equality and Prevention and Response to Gender-Based Violence in 2024.

Speaking at the program, Vice President of the City Women's Union Pham Thi My Hoa said that the cultural festival "Ethnic minority women take action for gender equality" in 2024 has the meaning of propagating and raising awareness of gender equality and law compliance of ethnic minority women; improving the capacity of women's union officials, reporters, and propagandists on gender and gender equality knowledge in ethnic minority and mountainous areas of Hanoi.

From there, contributing to the implementation of the goal of gender equality, solving urgent problems for women and children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. At the same time, introducing the beauty of culture, traditional craft products of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas of the capital.

The 2024 cultural festival program "Ethnic minority women take action for gender equality" with performances from 14 women's associations in ethnic minority communes of Ba Vi district participating.

Each unit performed special performances expressing the beauty of their national culture and introduced the unique culture of their nation.

The program has the participation of 14 teams.

The performances at the festival have contributed to promoting the cultural beauty of ethnic minorities, raising awareness of gender equality and law compliance among ethnic minority women; at the same time, promoting ethnic minority women to participate in local socio-economic development.

Through the festival, ethnic minority women have the opportunity to exchange, learn and share experiences. Thereby creating solidarity, unity, and encouraging each other to do a good job of propaganda, raising awareness of gender equality and law compliance of ethnic minority women in the locality.

The performances at the festival contributed to promoting the cultural beauty of ethnic minorities and raising awareness of gender equality.

According to the Vice President of the Hanoi Women's Union, in the past time, closely following the direction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Hanoi People's Committee, the Hanoi Women's Union has advised the City People's Committee to seriously and effectively implement the contents of the project "Propaganda to raise awareness of gender equality and legal knowledge for ethnic minority women in the period of 2022 - 2025". Focus on organizing guidance and implementing pilot models; specifying the contents and targets for implementing the Project.
