In previous years, Digiworld often paid dividends to shareholders in cash along with bonus shares. Typically, in 2021, the company paid a cash dividend of 10%, bonus shares at a ratio of 1:1.

In 2022, the company will continue to pay cash dividends at a rate of 10% and bonus shares at a rate of 80%. At the same time, in the years 2017-2023, Digiworld has continuously issued ESOP shares to employees with the amount increasing each year. In early 2023, the company issued 4 million bonus shares to employees despite the business situation showing signs of decline.

Second quarter profit down 53%

Regarding business performance, in the first 6 months of the year, Digiworld achieved net revenue of VND8,555 billion, down 28% compared to the same period last year. DGW's after-tax profit reached VND162.4 billion, down 53% compared to the same period.

In its report explaining the decline in revenue and profit, Digiworld said the reason was due to the impact on its core business activities. In particular, the sales of laptops and tablets have dropped sharply due to low demand during the economic recession.

Digiworld's tablet and laptop segment brought in VND2,426 billion, down 28% year-on-year. Compared to the plan set at the beginning of the year, it has only completed 44% of the revenue plan.

In addition, Digiworld's mobile phone sales segment was also affected with revenue in the first 6 months of the year reaching only 4,089 billion VND, down 38% compared to the same period. Compared to the yearly plan, the mobile phone sales segment only reached about 47% of the target plan.

At the end of the second quarter of 2023, DGWW's total assets reached VND 6,559.6 billion. Notably, liabilities accounted for VND 4,006.7 billion. Most of which was short-term debt, accounting for VND 3,990.2 billion. Meanwhile, equity currently only accounted for VND 2,552.9 billion, equivalent to about 39% of total capital.
