Russia's Defense Ministry said 94 Russian prisoners of war captured by Ukraine had been released, while Ukraine said 95 Ukrainian prisoners of war - from national guard and border guards - had returned.

On the evening of June 11, Russia and Ukraine jointly announced the return of nearly 100 prisoners of war from each side.

On the Telegram app, the Russian Defense Ministry said that 94 Russian prisoners of war captured by Ukraine had been released after negotiations and they would be taken to a medical facility for health checks.

Meanwhile, Mr. Andriy Yermak, Chief of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that 95 Ukrainian prisoners of war have returned, including some wounded. These prisoners are members of the national guard and border guards.

Mr. Yermark also added that those released on the Ukrainian side had been operating near the city of Mariupol, which was besieged by Russian forces for weeks last year.

Last February, Russia and Ukraine also conducted a prisoner exchange with a total of nearly 200 people on both sides.

In May, Moscow returned 45 Ukrainian prisoners of war, mostly members of the Azov Battalion, while Kiev also released three Russian pilots./.
