The V-League's best squad for the 2024-2025 season was announced by the tournament's Organizing Committee at the V-League Award ceremony held on July 1.
Accordingly, the goalkeeper position in the squad belongs to Nguyen Dinh Trieu of Hai Phong Club - the team ranked 6th overall.
Meanwhile, overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper Nguyen Filip (Hanoi Police, 3rd place) or Tran Nguyen Manh ( Nam Dinh , champion) despite showing more excellence were not chosen. This caused a lot of public discussion.
In terms of statistics, Dinh Trieu cannot be compared to Nguyen Filip or Nguyen Manh. Specifically, Dinh Trieu conceded 23 goals in 21 appearances (average rate of 1.09 goals/match), kept a clean sheet in 7 matches, and saved 68%.

But this explanation is also not good. Because if we use the criterion of playing for a weak team as an additional point, goalkeeper Nguyen Thanh Tung is more deserving of the award.
This is because Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club has a very modest squad. Goalkeeper Thanh Tung only conceded 20 goals in 26 matches (0.76 goals/match), with 10 clean sheets, contributing to the team's 5th place achievement. That achievement is much higher than Dinh Trieu.
