According to the report of the Electricity Authority, in the first 6 months of 2025, the total electricity output of the entire national system is estimated to reach more than 156 billion kWh, 3% higher than the same period in 2024, reaching 45% of the 2025 plan. Electricity supply activities nationwide are guaranteed, well meeting the needs of socio-economic development.
To ensure the economic growth target of 8% in 2025 and the period from 2026 onwards, the Ministry of Industry and Trade , ministries, branches and energy corporations have developed a plan to operate the system and provide electricity closely following reality, meeting growth needs with safe, stable and continuous conditions.

In Dong Nai, according to the report of the Department of Industry and Trade, there are currently 5 key power source and grid projects in the province. Among them, there is the Tri An Hydropower Plant expansion project with a scale of 92 hectares, a total installed capacity of 200MW, expected to start construction on the occasion of National Day, September 2; Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plants are expected to generate commercial electricity in August and November this year, respectively; 3 projects to clear capacity for Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 Power Plant Projects are being implemented, some locations are still stuck in site clearance, Dong Nai will make efforts to handle them in June 2025.
Regarding the work of supplying electricity to serve socio-economic development, since the beginning of the year, the transmission and distribution grid system in the province has operated safely, stably and continuously, meeting the electricity demand for production, daily life, as well as political and social events and major holidays.
In the future, when the Ministry of Industry and Trade issues a Decision to adjust the national electricity supply plan for 2025 and the Southern Power Corporation allocates electricity output targets to the provinces, the province will direct the review and adjustment of the electricity supply plan for 2025 as a basis for implementation.
Speaking at the conference, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien requested relevant units to ensure stable electricity supply, avoiding power shortages or subjective incidents from now until the end of 2025.
At the same time, it is necessary to provide adequate fuels such as coal, gas, and oil for electricity production; regularly update weather and hydrological conditions to have response plans; closely coordinate with local authorities and management agencies to flexibly operate reservoirs, ensure safety of works during the rainy and stormy season, and complete the year-end water storage target.
In addition, units need to prepare scenarios to respond to unusual weather, mobilize resources appropriately; speed up administrative procedures for power projects; urge the construction progress of key projects and proactively develop plans for electricity supply and operation in 2026.
