“In fact, I believe that reading culture is still of interest to many young people. Books will still be loved by them. And many young people also want to improve their reading skills,” said Nguyen Huu Phuoc, founder and operator of Lang Thang Community+.
With the desire to find good, practical and applicable initiatives, the contest has created a playground and through that, together inspired and spread the reading culture and passion for books among young people. The two projects in the recent final night held at Hoa Sen University were both from very young people.
The champions were a group of four students from Nguyen Quang Dieu High School for the Gifted (Dong Thap province).
With the Booklevers project of the school’s Book and Action Club, students share the idea of “10 minutes of reading at the beginning of class” every day, and maintain the habit to create a passion for reading. They themselves are surprised when the project contributes to positive changes in the school’s students.
“Not only do you read more and read more diligently, but so do your parents,” said Ho Hong Han, a project member.
Meanwhile, the Microwave team – the runner-up of the competition – developed the Handbook project in Ho Chi Minh City with a model of lending books for free both online and in person.

You guys said you created activities that really help readers access books more easily, and share their favorite books with many others.
As a judge for the final night, Ms. Tran Thi My Dung - founder of the Vietnam Reading Culture project - said that although the contest was organized for the first time, it created a good effect, spreading reading culture in the community, especially among young people.
“The projects will need to be improved, but above all, young people show enthusiasm for initiatives and good ways to bring books closer to the community,” said Ms. Dung.
From the perspective of a cultural manager, Dr. Thai Thu Hoai (Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture) shared her joy when seeing many young people who love books and reading.
According to her, activities to spread reading culture from each initiative of the majority of young people like in this contest will help the implementers and beneficiaries of the project's value to love books more, absorb the values from books and apply them to life.
“I see a positive sign about how to create sustainable success because books are like great teachers,” Ms. Hoai analyzed.
Established in 2022, the community operating in the field of developing reading culture Lang Thang Community+, founded and run by young man Nguyen Huu Phuoc, started with small activities such as connecting, sharing books, and organizing book events.
