Mr. Nguyen Duc Tai: 'I will not participate in managing Mobile World'

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Tai at the congress, he said he will continue to "sit" on the board of directors as a member but will not participate in the company's operations.

"The young people have done a better job of managing the group. I am just the one to guide them on direction and management to help the group develop in the future," Mr. Tai shared.

According to the 2024 report, Mobile World Group (MWG) has successfully completed its business goals, such as: achieving 107% of the revenue plan with more than 134,000 billion VND and 156% of the after-tax profit plan with more than 3,700 billion VND, equivalent to a growth of 13.6% in revenue and 21 times in profit compared to 2023.

In 2024, although Vietnam's economy maintained its recovery momentum and achieved economic growth, consumers still tended to spend more cautiously, prioritizing essential consumer products and reducing spending on high-value items. MWG has proactively and flexibly adapted to the new business context, with a comprehensive restructuring orientation.

Of which, the Mobile World chain and the Dien May Xanh system achieved revenue of nearly 3.6 billion USD. Key product lines such as phones, refrigeration and household appliances achieved good growth.

The Bach Hoa Xanh chain achieved revenue of more than 1.6 billion USD. Notably, the chain has been profitable at the corporate level after more than 2 years of comprehensive restructuring and for the first time brought a full-year profit to the group. The Erablue electronics retail chain in Indonesia and the Avakids chain both achieved profits in the last quarters of the year.

In 2025, the group aims to achieve 150,000 billion VND in revenue and 4,850 billion VND in after-tax profit.

In particular, Vietnam's e-commerce is forecast to continue to grow strongly, thanks to the expansion of the digital economy, increasingly complete technology infrastructure, high internet and mobile device usage rates, and the popularity of online payment methods.

In particular, changes in consumer shopping habits are also contributing to this trend. According to forecasts, the market size could reach tens of billions of USD, with a double-digit growth rate each year.
