Mobile coverage on multiple highways

Người Lao ĐộngNgười Lao Động09/04/2024

The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has just sent a document requesting the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) to study early mobile coverage and provide telecommunications services on expressways.

The proposal of the Ministry of Transport comes from the fact that some expressways such as Cam Lo - La Son, La Son - Hoa Lien do not have mobile phone signals and telecommunication services. This causes difficulties for traffic participants on these expressways when encountering problems, needing to call for help or accessing map and positioning applications.

According to the Ministry of Transport, expressways are modern, high-tech projects managed and operated by intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Therefore, telecommunication service coverage is essential.

The Ministry of Transport requested the Ministry of Information and Communications to direct agencies and units to review and research early mobile phone coverage and provide telecommunications services on highways that do not yet have this service.
