Quang Tri: More than 100 disabled children receive free surgery

On August 4, Center II of the Vietnam Association for the Relief of Disabled Children in collaboration with the Vietnam-Cuba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital, Quang Tri province organized a free surgery program for disabled children in difficult circumstances, with the main sponsorship of the Thien Tam Fund of Vingroup Corporation.

This charity program is not only a support to ease the pain and sadness of unfortunate children and their families, but also brings happy smiles and hope for a brighter future to children in difficult circumstances.

Accordingly, from August 4-8, doctors and plastic surgery experts from leading hospitals such as Bach Mai, Viet Duc, Central Eye and Hanoi Medical University, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy... conducted consultations and surgeries for 109 children with various types of disabilities such as facial and motor system defects; eye defects, genital-anal defects, ear-nose-throat defects and other benign tumors that were screened in the first phase of 2025.

At the same time, medical staff and experts conduct screening examinations, provide professional advice, assess the possibility of surgery or provide rehabilitation support for children coming for the first examination.

Next, from August 8-15, doctors at the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi will continue to perform surgery on the remaining cases.

According to the representative of the leadership of Center II of the Vietnam Association for the Relief of Disabled Children, in recent times, with the support of Thien Tam Fund and sponsors, the Center has worked with agencies, units and medical teams to conduct surgeries to help and light up the faith of disabled children in difficult circumstances in many localities, including Quang Tri province.

From there, help many disabled children in difficult circumstances reintegrate into the community, strive to study and practice well.

During its 19 years of operation (2005-2024), Center II has implemented surgical programs to bring a better life to 10,472 poor disabled children nationwide. In 2025, Center II will implement a plan to organize a program to identify disabled children and provide free surgery for disadvantaged disabled children in 15 provinces and cities nationwide.
