On the morning of March 12, Nghi Son Town Police (Thanh Hoa) said they were temporarily detaining Nguyen Van Thanh (born in 1994, residing in Thuy Ninh Commune, Thai Thuy District, Thai Binh Province) to investigate and clarify the act of resisting a person on duty.
Previously, at around 10:15 a.m. on March 11, at the Nghi Son intersection on the Nghi Son - Dien Chau highway, in Tan Truong commune (Nghi Son town), Group 3, Team 4, Department 6, Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) was on patrol to ensure traffic order and safety. At this time, the working group discovered a tractor-trailer with license plate 15C-209.32 pulling a trailer with license plate 15R-113.71 driven by Nguyen Van Thanh entering a road with a "no entry" sign.
As soon as the violating vehicle was discovered, the task force signaled the vehicle to stop, however, driver Nguyen Van Thanh did not comply and instead accelerated to avoid the task force and flee. The task force used a patrol car to chase after the vehicle.
When reaching Km 369+200 of Nghi Son - Dien Chau highway in Phu Son commune (Nghi Son town), the patrol car overtook the container truck and signaled to stop. At this time, Thanh continued to drive the container truck straight into the back of the patrol car of the working group. Fortunately, no one was injured, but the rear of the patrol car was damaged.
