On July 19, the leader of the Navy's 129th Squadron said that ship 711 of the Squadron had just completed an excellent mission, promptly transporting two seriously ill fishermen from Nam Yet Island in the Truong Sa archipelago to the mainland safely, in extremely complicated weather conditions due to the impact of storm No. 3, with level 5-6 winds and waves lasting for many days.

The two fishermen who received support are Mr. Vo Da (born in 1963) and Mr. Doan Tinh (born in 1968), both from Hoai Nhon 3 ward, Gia Lai province.

Previously, both fishermen were given emergency treatment at Nam Yet Island Infirmary from July 3-7 with serious symptoms such as acute hypertension, suspected cerebrovascular accident, lipid disorders and signs of stroke.

Although the two patients have passed the critical stage, their health condition still requires continued intensive treatment.

Due to limited equipment on the island, on July 15, Nam Yet Infirmary coordinated with Ship 711 to transport two patients to the mainland.

On board, two doctors from Nam Yet infirmary continued to closely monitor and provide medical care throughout the journey.

After more than 4 days and nights of sailing in high waves and strong winds, with a high sense of responsibility and determination not to be afraid of hardship, officers and soldiers of Ship 711 brought the two fishermen to the port of Fleet 129, Phuoc Thang Ward, Ho Chi Minh City safely at 7:00 p.m. on July 19, and handed them over to their families for further treatment.

The organization of the safe transport of seriously ill fishermen to the mainland in complex weather conditions continues to clearly affirm the core role of the Vietnam People's Navy in protecting the sovereignty of seas and islands associated with the task of supporting and helping fishermen at sea.

This is also a vivid demonstration of the effectiveness of the program "Vietnam Navy as a fulcrum for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea"./.
