Goalkeeper Filip Nguyen is about to complete the naturalization procedure to be ready to receive the call-up to the Vietnam national team from coach Philippe Troussier.

If nothing changes, Filip Nguyen will complete the procedure to obtain Vietnamese citizenship in early December. This is not only very good news for the Vietnamese-American goalkeeper but also for coach Philippe Troussier.

Recently, Filip Nguyen has been very eager to wear the Vietnamese national team jersey. However, for some reasons, he has not been able to successfully naturalize and has had to wait until now to realize his dream.

After obtaining citizenship, the goalkeeper born in 1992 could be one of the quality choices for the goalkeeper position in the Vietnamese team, creating a very anticipated competition with Dang Van Lam.

Since leading the Vietnamese team, coach Philippe Troussier has repeatedly said he really wants to take advantage of resources from overseas Vietnamese players and Filip Nguyen is one of the names that the French strategist has high expectations for.
