General Secretary To Lam receives Chairman of SK Group

(NLDO) - General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the plan to implement new projects of SK Group in Vietnam in line with socio -economic development orientations.

On the afternoon of February 14, at the headquarters of the Party Central Committee Office, General Secretary To Lam received Chairman of SK Group and Chairman of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Chey Tae-won.

At the reception, General Secretary To Lam welcomed the Chairman of SK Group to visit and work in Vietnam; highly appreciated the achievements of SK Group in the process of investing and doing business in Vietnam in recent times; and thanked the Chairman and SK Group for their affection for Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam expressed his satisfaction with the excellent development of the Vietnam-Korea relationship in all areas; emphasizing that Korea is always among the leading countries in investment and trade in Vietnam. On that basis, the two countries are aiming for a trade turnover of 150 billion USD by 2030; highly appreciating the practical contributions of Korean enterprises investing and doing business in Vietnam, including SK Group, thereby making an important contribution to Vietnam's socio-economic development.

General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the plan to implement new projects of SK Group in Vietnam in line with Vietnam's socio-economic development orientations; suggested that SK Group cooperate closely with relevant agencies and localities in Vietnam to soon implement the projects in the fastest, most practical and effective way.

For his part, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won reported on the investment activities of SK Group in Vietnam in recent times and plans to expand investment in Vietnam in the coming time; emphasizing that SK Group has the world's leading capacity in the energy sector and wishes to cooperate in implementing related fields in Vietnam to contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnam's economy.

Accordingly, SK Group wishes to cooperate with Vietnam to deploy energy solutions combined with the development of key industries such as investing in LNG power infrastructure in Vietnam combined with the development of potential cooperation projects related to AI Data Centers, Hydrogen energy and Small Modular Reactors (SMR), high-tech agriculture and logistics.
