Specifically, at around 8:00 a.m. on August 13, while fishing in the sea 12 nautical miles from Truong Sa Island, Mr. Vo Van Hiep, 54 years old, a fisherman in Tam Quang ward (Hoai Nhon town, Binh Dinh province) had pain in the epigastric region that gradually increased.

Realizing the seriousness of the situation, ship BD 98573 TS quickly took him to Truong Sa Medical Center in Truong Sa island district ( Khanh Hoa province) for emergency treatment at 8:30 a.m. on August 14.

Here, the doctors concluded that Mr. Hiep had a gastrointestinal infection, gastroenteritis, and high blood pressure. The medical team performed a series of emergency measures such as blood count, blood biochemistry, X-ray, emergency abdominal ultrasound, rehydration, electrolytes, antibiotics, secretion reduction, intravenous nutrition, and blood pressure reduction.

Currently, the patient's vital signs have stabilized with a heart rate of 75 beats/minute, blood pressure of 180/100 mmHg, oxygen saturation of 98%, and body temperature of 37 degrees Celsius. However, Mr. Hiep still has dull pain in the abdomen around the navel and the risk of acute pancreatitis and progressive infection cannot be ruled out...
