(Dan Tri) - Not long after the Vietnamese women's futsal team defeated Thailand to win the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship, regional media called midfielder Tran Thi Thuy Trang a legend.
On the evening of November 21, the Vietnamese women's futsal team defeated Thailand 2-1 in the final match of the 2024 Southeast Asian Championship. Two days later, on November 23, the Asean Football website, which specializes in regional football, wrote: "Tran Thi Thuy Trang has made history."

"She is the first female athlete in Southeast Asia to win both the AFF Cup championship in football and futsal. Thuy Trang is a true legend of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian football. She is an extraordinary and very versatile talent," Asean Football added.
In addition to calling Thuy Trang a "legend", Asean Football also listed this female player's very thick list of achievements, spanning many years.
Specifically, in soccer, Thuy Trang won gold medals at the SEA Games in 2017, 2022 and 2023, won the AFF Cup 2019, and participated in the World Cup 2023.

In the HCM City Women's Football Club, Thuy Trang won the national women's football championship 9 times, in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. She won the national cup 3 more times in 2020, 2022 and 2023.
Meanwhile, in futsal, Thuy Trang won the 2024 AFF Cup and won two silver medals at the SEA Games in 2011 and 2013.
Today (November 24), the official fanpage of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) also officially recognized Thuy Trang's stature in Vietnamese women's football, through the following comments: "Tran Thi Thuy Trang, the female player who has contributed to the development of Vietnamese women's football in both 11-a-side (grass-field football) and 5-a-side (futsal) arenas".
"In the near future, Thuy Trang will continue to contribute and compete under the HCM City Women's Football Club jersey at the National Women's Football Cup, starting from November 28 in Hanoi ," the official fanpage of VFF added.
