The player currently playing for Ninh Binh Football Club has become the only player in Southeast Asia to have won the U23 regional championship three times. This is also a record that will be difficult to break in the coming years.
Coach Kim Sang Sik became the first coach of Vietnamese football to win the Southeast Asian championship with the national team and the U23 team. Last year, the Korean coach won the AFF Cup with the Vietnamese team. This year, Mr. Kim won the U23 Southeast Asian championship.

In 2022, U23 Vietnam remained undefeated in 4 matches in the tournament held in Cambodia. In 2023, U23 Vietnam continued to remain undefeated in 4 matches in the tournament held in Thailand. And this year, coach Kim Sang Sik's team remained undefeated in all 4 matches in the tournament held in Indonesia.
Including the victory over U23 Cambodia in the third-place match of the 2019 tournament, U23 Vietnam has an unbeaten streak of 13 consecutive matches, a record that is very difficult to break by teams in the region.
The last time U23 Vietnam lost at the U23 Southeast Asian tournament was in the semi-final match of the 2019 tournament. At that time, we lost to U23 Indonesia 0-1.
