Ukraine claims recapture of 4 villages after fierce frontline fighting, Japan pledges 'comprehensive aid' to Kiev

According to information from the Ukrainian side, during a counterattack against Russian forces on June 12, the country's army recaptured the fourth village in the cluster of settlements in the southeast.

Earlier, the country's army said on June 11 that its soldiers had captured three villages in Donetsk: Blahodatne, Neskuchne and Makarivka.

In addition, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also revealed that about 25 battles took place during the past 24 hours near Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka in the Donetsk region, and near Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region.

According to Erhiy Cherevatyi, spokesman for the country's Eastern Military Command, Ukrainian forces continued to counterattack on the flanks of Bakhmut and pushed back Russian forces by nearly 700 meters in this area.

Over the past week, due to fierce fighting, both Russia and Ukraine said that both sides have suffered heavy losses.

On the same day, Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio affirmed that Tokyo will continue to support Ukraine in many areas, including mine clearance and national reconstruction.

Specifically, Prime Minister Kishida announced that Japan has pledged $7.6 billion in aid to Ukraine and neighboring countries. Furthermore, Tokyo will also “provide comprehensive aid” to Kiev in many areas, including defense equipment.

Using its experience and knowledge, Japan will also help Ukraine in many areas, from mine clearance, debris removal,... to energy and agriculture .
