Vietnam will continue to consult with Laos and Cambodia to promote extensive cooperation.

The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson stated that Vietnam has been and will continue to consult with Laos and Cambodia to promote deep, substantive cooperation between the three countries, in line with development requirements in the new stage.

On the afternoon of October 17, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, answering reporters' questions about Vietnam's reaction to Cambodia's withdrawal from the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle (CLV-DTA) cooperation mechanism, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said that the solidarity, friendship and trust between the three countries of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia is a valuable asset for all three peoples.

Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia have many cooperation mechanisms, including the Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam Development Triangle cooperation.

Each mechanism has its own value and contribution to the friendly cooperation and development of all three countries.

Ms. Pham Thu Hang emphasized that over the past 25 years, cooperation in the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle has contributed to promoting traditional relations as well as economic , trade and people-to-people cooperation, helping to narrow the development gap and improve the lives of people in border areas and in the three countries.

"Vietnam has been and will continue to consult with Laos and Cambodia to promote extensive, substantive, and effective cooperation between the three countries, in line with development requirements in the new period, for the benefit of the people of the three countries, for the ASEAN Community, for peace, cooperation, and development in the region," the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson affirmed.

Also at the press conference, answering reporters' questions about the Foreign Ministry's comments on recent tensions on the Korean peninsula, Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said: "Vietnam is concerned about the recent situation on the Korean peninsula. We hope that all parties will exercise restraint, avoid escalating tensions and persevere in dialogue, taking into account each other's interests and interests as well as the common interests of the region and the world, contributing to maintaining peace and stability on the Korean peninsula, in the region and in the world"./.
