VIMC met and worked with the Exim Bank US delegation

On the morning of June 24, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Maritime Administration, Vietnam National Shipping Lines (VIMC) met and worked with representatives of the US Export-Import Bank (Eximbank USA) and a delegation from the US Embassy in Vietnam. This is an important follow-up activity in the series of trade and investment promotion programs within the framework of the SelectUSA 2025 conference recently held in the United States.

Leading the Eximbank USA delegation was Mr. John Ahn, Asia- Pacific Business Development Specialist, Global Business Development. Also attending were representatives from the US Embassy, including the Commercial Counselor and officers in charge of economic cooperation. On the VIMC side, Deputy General Director Le Quang Trung chaired the meeting and gave an overview of the Corporation, with special emphasis on three strategic pillars: the seaport system, the shipping fleet and supporting logistics services.

The US side highly appreciated Vietnam's growth potential and increasingly important role in the global maritime supply chain. Mr. John Ahn said that Eximbank USA is committed to accompanying US businesses interested in investing in Vietnam, and will study the possibility of financial support for import-export projects and key seaport infrastructure development. He also noted a positive impression of VIMC's proactive provision of transparent and professional information, creating a foundation for building trust in long-term cooperation.

The representative of the US Embassy expressed support for the efforts to connect and cooperate between VIMC and Eximbank USA, and committed to playing a bridging role to promote deeper discussions with potential partners in the coming time. The two sides also agreed to maintain regular communication channels and move towards building official memorandums of understanding in the spirit of respect, efficiency and mutual development.

The delegation then visited and worked with the Board of Directors of Cai Lan International Container Terminal (CICT). The guests expressed their impression of CICT's modern infrastructure, professional operating procedures and efficient cargo handling capacity.

This working session is a practical result of the working trip to the United States of the Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Minister of Finance Cao Anh Tuan, demonstrating the effective connection between policy levels and businesses. VIMC hopes that, with the support of international financial institutions and strategic partners from the United States, investment plans to develop the national logistics ecosystem and seaport infrastructure will continue to be promoted in the coming period, contributing to the goal of sustainable development of Vietnam's maritime industry.
