(Dan Tri) - Regarding the case of a couple in Cam Le district, Da Nang city producing nearly 1 ton of various types of sausages containing borax, the authorities inspected in March and found no violations.

Regarding the case in which Da Nang City Police recently discovered a production facility with nearly 1 ton of various types of sausages containing borax, Cam Le District People's Committee said that before the violation, Mr. Pham Xuan Ty's household had attended food safety training courses organized annually by Hoa An Ward People's Committee.

In 2024, implementing the official dispatch of Da Nang City Police on coordinating food safety management, Cam Le District People's Committee provided a list of establishments in the area for inspection, including Mr. Pham Xu Ty's establishment.

The People's Committee of Cam Le District has established an interdisciplinary inspection team chaired by the District Economic Department to periodically inspect food safety conditions at Mr. Pham Xu Ty's facility. As of March, no violations have been detected.

Cam Le District People's Committee said that, based on the discovery of violations, the District People's Committee directed the District Finance and Planning Department to issue a notice to revoke the certificate in accordance with the provisions of law on business registration for Pham Xu Ty business household.

This facility was granted a business registration certificate by the District Finance and Planning Department on April 22, 2021, operating at 41 Nhon Hoa 12, Hoa An Ward (Cam Le District).

Cam Le District People's Committee added that during the time before Lunar New Year, the unit will pay attention and continue to direct and focus on implementing food safety work in the area, contributing to ensuring food safety.

As Dan Tri reported, between December 20 and 27, the Economic Police Department of Da Nang City Police suddenly inspected 4 ham production facilities, including Mr. Ty's facility. Here, the police discovered nearly 1 ton of various types of ham.

Through a quick check, the police discovered that all of the above foods tested positive for borax (Sodium Borate). The test results of 9 samples of ham also showed the presence of borax.

The police investigation agency has prosecuted the defendant Pham Xu Ty (40 years old) and applied a house arrest order to Ms. Vo Thi Tuyet (33 years old) to investigate violations of food safety regulations.

According to scientific studies, borax is highly toxic to the human body and is not on the list of additives allowed for use in food processing.
