Yoga connects generations

Among the large crowd participating in the yoga performance in Da Nang City, many young people experienced it for the first time.

Ms. Le Thi Hang (22 years old, from Gia Lai province, currently living and working in Ho Chi Minh City) when hearing that Da Nang city was organizing a yoga performance, she and her friends registered to participate.

Ms. Hang said she has only been practicing yoga for 4 months, but is very grateful for that "fateful encounter". "When I first started, I encountered many difficulties, especially in difficult movements. If I did not pay attention to the technique, it would be easy to get injured. But the more I practiced, the calmer and more patient I felt," Ms. Hang said.

According to the girl from Gia Lai, this is the first time she has attended such a grand yoga event with more than 1,000 yoga lovers gathered at Tien Son Sports Palace to perform and exchange and learn from yoga teachers from home and abroad.

The special thing that Ms. Hang feels in yoga is the meeting between body and spirit. "There are times when I feel very tired, but just entering the class, listening to the teacher's instructions, doing the breathing movements correctly... my mind seems to calm down and I feel very comfortable," Ms. Hang confided.

Ms. Pham Thi Thanh (71 years old, residing in Son Tra District, Da Nang City) said that yoga has now become familiar and close to Da Nang people.

"Not only a physical training method, yoga is also considered a bridge for each person to heal their spirit, control their emotions and move towards a positive lifestyle," said Ms. Thanh.

International Yoga Performance Program - Da Nang 2025 with the theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health" was organized by the Union of Friendship Organizations of Da Nang City, the Vietnam - India Friendship Association of Da Nang City in coordination with the Embassy of India in Vietnam, on the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day (June 21, 2015 - June 21, 2025).
