Previously, the hospital also screened nearly 100 children with facial deformities. The subjects supported in the program include: children with cleft lip from 2 weeks old and up; children with cleft palate from 12 months old, weighing at least 9.5 kg; patients with sequelae of cleft lip - palate at all ages (lip scars, nasal deformities, dental arch clefts, etc.); patients with congenital ptosis (over 5 years old, no ophthalmic disease). In addition, the program also supports accommodation and travel expenses for patients and their families during treatment.

Ms. Huynh Thi Bao Ngoc (Ngoc Hoyer), a companion unit, said that as a mother, she deeply understands the meaning of a child's smile - not only joy, but also the first milestone of confidence, of a complete childhood. That is what motivated me to return to Vietnam, to accompany Operation Smile, to give 50 free surgeries to children who have never smiled like their peers.

“I believe that a smile given at the right time can change a child’s life. It’s not just a surgical journey – it’s a journey that opens up a new future: going to school, being loved by friends, and looking at life with confidence,” said Huynh Thi Bao Ngoc.

According to Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Lam Hoai Phuong, Director of My Thien Hospital, for the past 36 years, the hospital has always accompanied Operation Smile in the journey of bringing smiles to unfortunate children. With the message: "The medical sector, the team of doctors and sponsors always aspire to bring happiness and a bright future to children", the program pays special attention to cases in remote areas, where children are in very difficult circumstances and have little access to medical services. That is also the reason why each successful surgery is not only the joy of the patient's family, but also the motivation for the program to continue this journey.

During 36 years of operation in Vietnam, Operation Smile has connected thousands of kind hearts with more than 78,000 patients.
