At 7 p.m., the center of the tropical depression was at about 21.3 degrees North latitude; 112.4 degrees East longitude, in the sea south of Guangdong province (China). The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6-7 (39-61 km/h), gusting to level 9, moving in the West Southwest direction at a speed of about 10 km/h.
It is forecasted that by 7:00 a.m. on October 10, the tropical depression will move southwest at a speed of about 15 km/h, weakening into a low pressure area over Hainan Island, with an intensity less than level 6.
In the next 12 hours, the northwest sea area of the North East Sea will have strong winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 9; rough seas. In addition, due to the influence of strengthening cold air, from early morning on October 10, the sea area of the Gulf of Tonkin will have strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 8; rough seas.
In the North East Sea, waves are 1-2m high, and in the area near the center of the tropical depression, waves are 2-4m high. Since the morning of October 10, in the Gulf of Tonkin, waves are 2-3m high. All ships operating in these areas are affected by strong winds and large waves.
