Ben Tre focuses on developing high-quality human resources

Speaking at the Workshop, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ben Tre province Tran Ngoc Tam said that the 11th Congress of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee (term 2020-2025) identified the breakthrough task of focusing on developing human resources, especially high-quality human resources suitable to the requirements and strategic vision of socio-economic development of Ben Tre province.

In particular, to develop high-quality human resources, it is necessary to focus on and link 3 stages: training, use and treatment. Developing high-quality human resources is an investment for sustainable development, increasing the capacity and employment opportunities for workers, ensuring social security and political stability, social order and safety.

From there, it contributes to shifting the labor structure in a positive direction to achieve harmonious development between rural and urban areas, between agriculture and other sectors to create a new breakthrough in socio-economic development. At the same time, it promotes the development of the domestic labor market, actively integrating into the regional and world labor market.

Currently, Ben Tre province has 100% of provincial and district-level cadres, civil servants and public employees meeting professional standards. The provincial cadres, civil servants and public employees have 23 PhDs, 899 masters, and 3,923 university degrees; the district level has 2 PhDs, 88 masters, and 726 university degrees; the commune level has 35 masters, and 2,945 university degrees. Thereby, it has made an important contribution to improving the quality and effectiveness of leadership, management, administrative reform and public service implementation at agencies, units and localities. At the same time, it is an important factor in effectively mobilizing other resources for local socio-economic development.

The Organizing Committee of the Conference received nearly 70 presentations from scientists, leaders and managers in Ben Tre province and presentations from researchers from a number of universities, academies and research institutes in the southern region.

The workshop aimed to assess the current status of high-quality human resource development in Ben Tre province. At the same time, identify opportunities, advantages as well as difficulties, challenges and issues arising for the development of high-quality human resources in the locality.

On that basis, propose recommendations and solutions to develop high-quality human resources to meet the development requirements of Ben Tre province by 2030, with a vision to 2045.
