AS Roma and Fiorentina booked their places in the Europa League and UEFA Conference League finals respectively after beating Bayer Leverkusen and Basel in the semi-finals. Earlier, another Serie A representative, Inter Milan, also reached the Champions League final after defeating AC Milan.
In the 1993/94 season, Fabio Capello's AC Milan defeated Johan Cruyff's Barca 4-0 to win the Champions League. The stars who scored in the final for Milan were Daniele Massaro (double), Marcel Desailly and Dejan Savicevic.

Meanwhile, the 1993/94 UEFA Cup final (the precursor to the Europa League) saw Inter and Austria Salzburg battle it out. Inter won 2-0 on aggregate in the two-legged tie. In this season’s Europa League, Juventus missed out on a chance to face Roma in the final, losing 2-3 on aggregate to Sevilla.
Also in 1994, Parma reached the Cup Winners' Cup final but lost 0-1 to Arsenal in the final. The tournament lasted for 39 years before being merged into the Europa League.
On April 21, Italian football made history in European Cup when it had 5 representatives reaching the semi-finals of European Cup tournaments, including Inter, AC Milan, Juventus, Roma and Fiorentina.
Coincidentally, in the season when 3 Serie A teams reached the final of European Cups, the domestic champion was also Napoli. In the 2022/23 season, coach Luciano Spalletti and his team were crowned champions 5 rounds early on May 5.
Inter will face Man City in the Champions League final on June 11. Meanwhile, Roma face Sevilla in the Europa League final on June 1. Fiorentina, the remaining Serie A team in Europe, face West Ham in the UEFA Conference League final on June 8.
