Regarding the reflection on the severely damaged tourist route through Mui Ne, on the morning of August 5, Mr. Le Thanh Son, Chairman of Mui Ne Ward People's Committee, said that he had requested the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects in Phan Thiet area, Lam Dong province to direct the construction unit to speed up the progress of the project through this area. The ward also mobilized tourism businesses in the area to support temporary patching at damaged points, creating convenience for travel for residents and tourists.
Currently, the Phan Thiet Area Construction Investment Project Management Board is implementing the project to upgrade Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street and Huynh Thuc Khang Street (from Hoang Ngoc tourist area to Lang Chai intersection in Mui Ne ward), with a total investment of more than 309 billion VND. The expected completion date is December 2025. However, as of early July 2025, the project is progressing very slowly, reaching only 7% of the progress.
Mr. Ngo Tuyen, Phan Thiet Area Investment and Construction Project Management Board, said: The project has a total route length of 4.8 km. The roadbed width is 9m, with a rainwater drainage system, wastewater drainage system, lighting and trees. By early July 2025, the construction units will complete the installation of a 1,100 m rainwater and wastewater drainage system, and widen the roadbed on one side by about 500 m.
Previously, the Project approved compensation, support and resettlement plans for 309 files/399 households and organizations. Organizations and individuals have received money for 239 files; 70 files have not received money yet. The reason for the delay is that many remaining compensation files have not been completed, and the legal entity must be changed, leading to delays in compensation and construction implementation.
Mr. Pham Quoc Bao, Deputy Head of the Economic , Infrastructure and Urban Department of Mui Ne Ward, said: Currently, the road is under construction and upgrading, so people are facing many inconveniences when traveling. The ward has mobilized a number of businesses to support temporary patching at severely damaged areas, creating more favorable conditions for people to travel. Currently, the road repair and construction work is organized in rotation, ensuring no traffic disruption, creating conditions for tourism business activities on the road to remain normal.
Nguyen Dinh Chieu and Huynh Thuc Khang streets are narrow and often flooded during the rainy season. When completed, the project will contribute to creating a clean and beautiful appearance for the key tourist area of Mui Ne. Locals expect the construction units to speed up the progress, ensure traffic safety and enhance the image of the destination to tourists.
