Ahead of the first leg of the 2024 AFF Cup final, Thairath Sport has published the score predictions of four Thai journalists, Jay Worapat, Tom Thanarat, Bobo Kerdkrai and Pup Thanthat. In which, Tom Thanarat predicts that the Vietnamese team will win 2-1. Meanwhile, Jay Worapat predicts a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the 2024 AFF Cup final between Vietnam and Thailand.
Journalist Tom Thanarat is the only person who predicted that Vietnam will win with a score of 2-1.
Journalist Bobo Kerdkrai predicts that the visiting team Thailand will win 2-1 at Viet Tri Stadium. Journalist Pup Thanthat predicts that the “War Elephants” will win at least 1-0 in the upcoming match.
Thairath Sport also consulted three former Thai players. Athit Sunthonphit, who won the SEA Games gold medal in 2007 and was part of the team that lost to Vietnam in the 2008 AFF Cup final, predicted that Thailand would win 2-1.
Meanwhile, Yuttajak Kornchan, who won the SEA Games gold medal in 2005 for Thailand U23, predicts a 1-1 draw. Santi Chaiyaphuak, a former player of Muangthong United, predicts a 2-1 win for Thailand.

In the press conference before the first leg of the final, coach Masatada Ishii said he was aiming for a good result: “I want the team to have the best possible result, or a victory. I will not share how we will deal with Xuan Son because this is a team secret.”
The first leg of the 2024 AFF Cup final between Vietnam and Thailand will take place at 8:00 p.m. today (January 2) at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ). The second leg of the final will take place on January 5 at Rajamangala Stadium.
