The homeowner said the tree was purchased for 5 million VND and planted in 2015. On the afternoon of November 27, she was not informed about the tree being cut down. When she discovered the tree had been cut down, she reported it to the police.

Through investigation, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward Police determined that on November 27, a number of workers of Phuoc Ly Xanh Company Limited performed tasks according to the contract.

When this group arrived in front of the house number above, they discovered a tree about 8m high, showing signs of drying out and losing leaves, so the workers took pictures and sent them to the company director, who agreed to cut down the tree and transport the trunk to Hoa Tien commune (Hoa Vang district).

Upon learning that the worker had not contacted the neighborhood association and the homeowner had cut down the tree, on the afternoon of November 28, the company director contacted the homeowner to uproot the cut tree and plant a replacement tree.

At the ward police station, the company found that the cutting of the tree in front of the house was not in accordance with the procedure. The two parties agreed to work out a solution to the problem.

Mr. Pham Phu Dung, Director of Phuoc Ly Xanh Company Limited, admitted that the incident had occurred and said that the two sides had agreed to compensate 12 million VND for the trees and care.

"The company also admitted its mistake in not notifying the homeowner about cutting down the tree," said Mr. Dung, adding that when the workers came to cut down the tree, they asked the head of the residential group for permission to cut the tree, but the head was not at home.

Mr. Dung explained that in this case, if the homeowner was not at home, the workers could have paused, but according to the schedule of pruning trees to prevent storms and cutting down diseased trees, the workers also rushed to do it to keep up with the schedule, which led to the unexpected incident.
