On September 18, CNN reported that Princess of Wales Kate Middleton made her first public appearance after completing chemotherapy for cancer.

According to information from the British Royal Family, Princess Kate returned to work by holding a meeting at Windsor Castle on September 17, discussing giving children a better start in the first 5 years of life.

No further details of the event have been released, but the Princess of Wales has focused on early childhood development for many years, something aides have previously described as her "life's work".

Last week, the princess announced her health status, affirming that she was “doing everything I can to keep cancer away” and starting “a period of recovery with a new sense of hope and appreciation for life”.

In a personal video message showing her and her family enjoying the British summer together, Kate said the past nine months had been a challenging time. “I am looking forward to returning to work and doing some more public engagements in the coming months if I can,” she said.

It is known that the princess began chemotherapy in February this year, and has only appeared in a few public activities since then.

In June, she joined her family at Trooping the Colour - the annual parade of British troops to mark the official birthdays of British monarchs for more than 260 years.

A month later, Duchess Kate received a standing ovation when she attended the Wimbledon men's singles final with her daughter, Princess Charlotte.

During her treatment, the princess worked from home and held meetings with her team and representatives from her child development center.

Although Duchess Kate will continue to focus on her treatment in the coming months, she is expected to continue a light public schedule through the end of the year.

The Duchess is also expected to attend the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph in London in November. The event commemorates British soldiers.
