The Faculty of Korean Language and Culture, together with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Department of Applied Literature (Van Lang University) has just announced the 2025 Korean Literature Review Writing Contest with the theme "Touching Korean Literature - Connecting Hearts".
The contest is open to all individuals who love Korean literature. This is an opportunity for anyone who loves Korean literature to explore the depth of Korean literary works, encouraging critical thinking, aesthetic appreciation, and creative writing skills.
Contestants will choose one of three works that have been translated into Vietnamese to write a review of, including: The Nature of Humans by author Han Kang, Encyclopedia of Demons and Ghosts - Korean Demons by author Ko Seong Bae, Today I Got Angry with Mom Again by author Jang Hae Joo.
The review must not exceed 5,000 words, written in Vietnamese, and presented in the prescribed format.

The Organizing Committee will award 1 first prize, worth 9 million VND; 2 second prizes, worth 6 million VND/prize; 5 third prizes, worth 2.5 million VND/prize; 7 consolation prizes, worth 1 million VND/prize and 10 "Most Favorite Work" prizes voted by readers, worth 500,000 VND/prize for excellent reviews.
The submission period is from July 28, 2025 to September 11, 2025. The results will be announced on September 26, 2025. The award ceremony will be held within the framework of the "Korean Literature Day 2025" program in early October at Van Lang University, with many famous guests expected in the Vietnamese - Korean literary and academic circles.

Korean literature is increasingly affirming its position in the world literary scene, especially after writer Han Kang was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2024, marking a milestone in the journey of spreading the depth of thought, philosophy of life, and cultural identity and soul of Korea.
